I did this a while back, because:
A) I love pixel art
B) Nintendo refuses to give us another 2D metroid sidescroller. I’ve been yearning for one for over a decade now :(
All assets were done from scratch, and it’s done in pixel perfect resolution for a top 3DS screen(I’ve tried porting the image to my 3DS to see how it would look but the system software makes that near…impossible)
To celebrate the Metal Gear series being 30 today, I spent the eve making my favourite MGS3 scene in Pixel Art (& made it a fighting game)

Fighting Dragons
- The Elder Scrolls: Swinging wildly while chugging potions
- Dark Souls: Dodgerolling around the arena to stab it in the ass
- Dragon's Dogma: Having your strider attack him with arrows while your fighter boosts you to climb onto the dragon and stab his heart while the mage keeps you all alive
- DnD: "You've accidentally pulled out a ring instead of your sword. The dragon thinks you are proposing. Roll Charisma."
